Pittsburgh bypassed by marketing geniuses

This one was captured by our metroblog brothers in Chicago. Other lite-brite-like promotions for Aqua Teen Hunger Force were up in New York, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Portland, Austin and San Francisco — before Boston police mistook theirs for improvised electronic devices. While Boston officials are steamed about getting hit by artbombs, I’m kinda sad that Pittsburgh was overlooked.

I’d send an e-mail to the marketing company responsible — the unfortunately named Interference Inc. — but their website is currently crashed out. Who knows, maybe Boston’s mayor has thrown them in jail. Poor fellows. Oh, I mean, rich fellows. Aqua Teen Hunger Force, the movie they were paid to promote, has been in the news about a zillion times in the last 24 hours.

We got bypassed here in DC, too. But considering how jumpy we are around here with the suspicious packages and whatnot, that’s probably for the best.

Congratulations on your launch, by the way. Having grown up in Pittsburgh, I’m so very excited to see a metroblog there. I get homesick sometimes. ;)

Wait, I heard that DC and Pittsburgh were a part of the whole Ignigot/Lite Brite thing. My co-worker says he’s seen one on the North side… I’ll have to ask him where.
