Wall-Mart to come to East Hills Shopping Center?

Community-based redevelopment as a VERY slow motion soap opera. Even if you don’t know the personalities involved, you can get a vivid sense of the storyline in today’s P-G.

For many of the years of this struggle, I had a child (or children) at the now-closed East Hills magnet elementary school, and the derelict shopping center parking lot was an occasional short cut to get to events at school. I hope the coming announcement represents a win for the community – it’s been a long haul.
