The Movie, Not the City
From what I could gather, the movie called “Pittsburgh ” takes place in Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh native Jeff Goldblum stars as himself in a semi-fictional documentary about his semi-fictional attempt to stage a version of Music Man, which he actually did.
I can’t figure out how much of it is real and how much of it is staged, and that’s kind of the point. I guess. Goldblum and the rest of the filmmakers are a bit cagey about it.
You can see the movie yourself if you have Starz - the next showing is at 3:10AM on August 30th, if that tells you anything. You’ll also be able to buy the DVD in September.
