I want to give a big amen to what Bill Peduto said about not wanting to copy the “big box” development that has taken place in other areas. However, I think the biggest mistake that Pittsburghers has made has been waiting for elected officials to make the necessary changes. As Bill said, politician’s love ribbon-cutting’s, but real change never happens after a big announcements. Real change happens by many people spinning the flywheel until there’s enough momentum to keep everything moving forward.

To all the people who feel that Pittsburgh is moving in the wrong direction, ask yourself this “What have you done today to help it move in the right direction?” If we get enough people thinking along those lines, we’ll make some real progress.
