I joined a group of about 10 other knitters for some public knitting at the tent in Schenley Park.

Many of the knitters found out about this event from the new online community for knitters Ravelry.com. I am a member of ravelry and I must say it is one of the best well constructed social communities on the web.

The palace theater in Greensburg was once scheduled to be demolished and turned into a parking garage. The palace theater has been restored and hosts a number of performances year round. I am in greensburg for Urban Hike www.urbanhike.org. I will say Greensburg has a number of great parking lots which are well labeled, each parking lot has a different name. I am glad this is a theater and not a parking lot.

I was just talking to someone recently about Rax. You remember that fast food establishment that had a super salad bar. I believe Rax also had a rat as a macot. Looking back a rat seems like an odd choice for a food spokesperson. This Rax Subway combo is located on 119 in Greensburg. Are there other Raxes, and I have no idea what the correct spelling for Rax plural should be, in existence?

Even though it was raining yesterday there were quite a few people who stopped by the Venture Outdoors festival on Washington’s Landing yesterday. The annual festival is a day to try out all sorts of out doors activities. In addition to fishing, many people were out on the river trying out the kayaks too.

It is just after 10 PM on the night before the presidentia primary election. The Peterson events center looks to be about 70 percent full. The crowd is waiting for Obama to speak. Some people have been here since 7:30. The Yes We Can video is playing on the score board.
