Steelers Drum Line

I’m late to the game on this one, and there isn’t much time left, but I’m hoping that there will be some sort of last-minute push to put this over the edge: a Kickstarter project to support the all-volunteer Steelers Drum Line.

While it’s not official (yet), you’ve probably seen them on the North Shore before home games.

If you have some money you can throw in, it would be appreciated.  Besides, we can’t let Baltimore have something that we don’t!

Another local kickstarter

I like to take a look at local Kickstarter projects, and today I’d like to feature one called DropKicker, from some of the people who bring us Obscure Games.

DropKicker helps to kick bad habits, and they have a variety of donation levels, including stickers, apps, and even access to all future projects.

Check it out here, and if you have a bad habit, maybe a little bit of technology can give you that boost to quit it!

Braddock hospital documentary on Kickstarter

A new project on Kickstarter has popped up, a documentary about the fight to save the Braddock Hospital.

The project itself has already had a lot of help, but they need a little extra push to finish up some video and sound editing, as well as mastering and DVD production.

Levels of giving come with a variety of goodies, including copies of a series of five documentaries about Braddock, all by Tony Buba.

To support the We Are Alive! project, or to learn more, check it out here on Kickstarter.

Before I Die

I think I mentioned it before, but the “Before I Die” wall is up in Lawrenceville, at Arsenal.

The Walkabout covers it here.  It looks like a really cool project, and reminds me a lot of the resolution wall done for First Night 2009, which I turned into the July Project.

I like things like this where the community can leave public messages for each other and interact.  I sadly don’t have time to make it over there, but I’d love to see some more pictures.  I certainly hope some of the statements went meta and referenced other ones on the board!
